Following a short inspection on 15th and 16th November 2016 on behalf of Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Service and Skills, ITEC NE has retained its Good grade from OFSTED.
Prior to the inspection ITEC NE were notified that there would be eight lines of enquiry that the inspection team would pursue throughout the two days with the focus upon improvements since last inspection, management of sub-contractors and revised policies in relation to the government’s latest guidance relating to Prevent and child exploitation.
A team of four inspectors arrived on Tuesday 15th November 2016. During the inspection the inspection team met with members of the leadership team, tutors, assessors, learners, apprentices and employers.The inspectors observed sessions in the workplace, our centres and with our sub-contractors. They reviewed learners and apprentices’ assessed work and electronic portfolios. They obtained learners views through an online survey, webinar and face-to-face interviews. They reviewed key strategic and policy documents, including those relating to strategic planning, lesson planning and assessment, quality assurance and performance monitoring and safeguarding.
The overall outcome was that ITEC NE continues to be a good training provider. The inspection team reported that our learners are at the centre of everything we do, which leads to excellent care and support. They also reported that we had developed strong partnerships with two sub-contractors and that the majority of apprentices complete their training and go on to secure permanent employment, gain promotion or move on to further education.
It was also reported that ITEC NE maintained effective safeguarding arrangements since the last inspection And have revised them in respect of the ‘Prevent’ duty.
